In the story of Satan and Job (Job 1-2) we can confirm a few key facts regarding God, Satan and man. First of all, God is Sovereign. Man cannot completely comprehend the plan of God regarding the course of our race, our world, or the spirit world. We must accept by faith that God’s plan is perfect, just and fair.
Secondly, we can clearly see that God is in control of all that Satan is allowed to do. Satan had to present himself to God, had to answer to him for his whereabouts and actions and receive permission to proceed with any actions towards Job. That submission is consistent with what the Bible revealed regarding the doom of Satan in the Abyss and later in the Lake of Fire.
Thirdly, mankind is under the care and protection of God even though the world is under the control and influence of Satan.
