The Millennial Kingdom

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.”

Matthew 25:31

“In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces.

“The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

Daniel 2:44-45

The Millennial Kingdom is a literal 1000 year kingdom with Christ physically and bodily reigning from Jerusalem. This occurs after the Second Coming of Christ as recorded in Revelation 19:11-15. Revelation 20 goes on to mention the 1000 year reign several times.

Words: 6084 / Time to read: 32 minutes

This is the only place in the Bible where it is specifically mentioned as 1000 years though many Old Testament and New Testament passages make reference to this period in more general terms. There were four covenant promises made by God to Israel and they have not yet been fulfilled. They can’t and won’t be fulfilled until the Millennial Kingdom is established. Once Christ returns, everything will change. The planet earth will undergo extensive topographical changes as a result of the tribulation judgments (Revelation 6-19). The way people and nations relate to one another will indicate peace and righteousness. Satan will be locked in the abyss and mankind won’t be tempted or hassled by any satanic or demonic forces. This situation will be the final dispensational test for mankind. Christ will be physically reigning on earth as King of all nations. Satan will be bound. Mankind will have no evil influence other than the sinful nature we are all born with but that will be enough for many to fail the test. They will reject Christ. The 1000 years will run their course and at the end, Satan will be released from the abyss. He will rally a rebellion from the evil humans living on the earth. During the 1000 years, these evil people may have outwardly complied with Christ to escape death as their punishment, but inwardly they rejected him. The release of Satan will reveal the hidden evil in their hearts. Satan and his followers will be wiped out and undergo their final judgment. At that time, the earth will be destroyed. All enemies of God will be judged. There will be no more physical life or death as there is now. Christ will hand over the kingdom to his Father and the Kingdom of God will exist in eternity. There will be a new heaven, a new earth and a New Jerusalem. The Bible doesn’t talk much about things in eternity, but it is clear that there is an end to our physical world as we know it.

“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.”

Revelation 20:11

“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'”

Revelation 21:1-5

“Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.”

1 Corinthians 15:24-25

Support for the conclusion of a literal Millennial Kingdom is found in many passages throughout the Old and New Testament. Christ will actually be the supreme political ruler as well as the spiritual leader and object of worship.

The Millennial Kingdom is the period when four major covenants made with Israel will be fulfilled. These were unconditional covenants made by God to the Nation of Israel. They demonstrate the grace of God toward this elect nation. They have never been fulfilled in history and it is obvious they won’t be fulfilled in the present world situation. It will require the Second Coming of Christ and the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom.

1.) The Promised Land Covenant
2.) The Abrahamic Covenant
3.) The Davidic Covenant
4.) The New Covenant

The Promised Land Covenant

God originally promised Abraham that his descendants would be given the land, “The Lord appeared to Abram and said, ‘To your offspring I will give this land.’ (Genesis 12:7).” Because of disobedience and failure, they first lived in Egypt for hundreds of years. Later, after gaining a portion of the land, they were warned that because of further disobedience and failure, they would be taken into captivity. However, ultimately, they were promised that the Lord God himself would “circumcise” their hearts and bring them back to inherit the land forever! (Ezekiel 37:25; Luke 1:32-33). Presently, since May 14, 1948, Israel has been a recognized nation and they possess a sliver of the land that was promised to them. In the Millennial Kingdom, they will possess the land in its entirety, from the Wadi of Egypt to the Euphrates (Genesis 15:18-21), an area far greater than any possession recorded in history. God will bring them back to the land and change their hearts to worship him alone as their God and King. The possession of the land in history was merely a partial fulfillment of the covenant promise, the Millennial Kingdom will be when it is fulfilled completely and eternally; Israel will never be displaced again.

As the Millennial Kingdom is established, Israel will be gathered back to her new expanded homeland and enjoy peace and rest from their enemies. They will honor and worship Christ their King.

“When all these blessings and curses I have set before you come on you and you take them to heart wherever the Lord your God disperses you among the nations, and when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you. Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back. He will bring you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will take possession of it. He will make you more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors. The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. The Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies who hate and persecute you. You will again obey the Lord and follow all his commands I am giving you today. Then the Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land. The Lord will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as he delighted in your ancestors, if you obey the Lord your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Deuteronomy 30:1-10

“Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will now restore the fortunes of Jacob and will have compassion on all the people of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name. They will forget their shame and all the unfaithfulness they showed toward me when they lived in safety in their land with no one to make them afraid. When I have brought them back from the nations and have gathered them from the countries of their enemies, I will be proved holy through them in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord their God, for though I sent them into exile among the nations, I will gather them to their own land, not leaving any behind. I will no longer hide my face from them, for I will pour out my Spirit on the people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

Ezekiel 39:25-29

“‘… and I will bring my people Israel back from exile. They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,’ says the Lord your God.

Amos 9:14-15

“’I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,’ declares the Lord.

“’The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’

“’So then, the days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when people will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ Then they will live in their own land.”

Jeremiah 23:3-8

“I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:

“’The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
And this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.’

“As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.”

Romans 11:25-32

The Abrahamic Covenant

God promised Abraham that he would have innumerable posterity including a great nation, much personal blessing, and that through him would come a blessing to be enjoyed by the entire world. Furthermore, a blessing would come upon those who bless Israel, the promised nation, and a curse would come upon those who curse Israel. This was an unconditional covenant promise though discipline would be in order for those generations who were disobedient. However, God’s ultimate promise pointed to Christ, a descendant of Abraham, who would be both the Savior of the world and return to reign as King in the Millennial Kingdom and establish peace and righteousness for the whole world.

“The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

“’I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.’

“So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.”

Genesis 12:1-4

“The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, ‘Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”

Genesis 13:14-17

“After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:

“’Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.’

“But Abram said, ‘Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?’ And Abram said, ‘You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.’

“Then the word of the Lord came to him: ‘This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.’ He took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.’ Then he said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’

“Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

“He also said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”

Genesis 15:1-7

“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, ‘I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.’

“Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, ‘As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.’

Genesis 17:1-8

The Davidic Covenant

God promised David a royal lineage, a throne and a kingdom without end for any of them. God declared he may interrupt the actual reign of David’s sons if discipline for disobedience was necessary, but the perpetuity of the covenant would not be broken. Jesus was a descendant of David and will ultimately fulfill this covenant during the Millennial Kingdom. It is important to note that this covenant is not fulfilled by Christ reigning from his Father’s throne in heaven. It will be fulfilled literally with Christ bodily present in Jerusalem, on David’s Throne, after the Second Coming. Furthermore, David will be resurrected and serving as Prince over Jerusalem with Christ reigning as King of all the nations of the world.

“But that night the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying:

“”Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord says: Are you the one to build me a house to dwell in? I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rulers whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’

“‘Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth. And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies.’

“‘The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you: When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’”

2 Samuel 7:4-16

“I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him. My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him. The enemy will not get the better of him;
the wicked will not oppress him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries. My faithful love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted. I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers. He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.’ And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth. I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail. I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.

“If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes, if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands, I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging; but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered. Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness—and I will not lie to David—that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun; it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.’

Psalm 89:20-37

“Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’

“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

Acts 2:29-36

“’The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.'”

Jeremiah 23:5-6

“Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

“‘My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees. They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever. My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. Then the nations will know that I the Lord make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’”

Ezekiel 37:20-28

The New Covenant

The New Covenant is new in contrast to the Mosaic Covenant that was broken by Israel. The New Covenant is unconditional; the Mosaic Covenant was conditionally based on blessing for obedience and cursing for disobedience (Deuteronomy 28). The New Covenant was first mentioned in the Old Testament with emphasis on the aspect regarding Israel. It was again mentioned in the New Testament with emphasis on the aspect of blessing for the Church. It’s safe to say that the New Covenant is an unconditional covenant for both Israel and the Church which accentuates the grace expressed by God in eternal security and salvation for those who place their faith in God. God has provided only one way of salvation which is by grace through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. In every case of salvation for mankind God has declared unconditionally what he will do for all those who put their trust in Him (John 5:24, 6:37, 10:28). This work of God for man is the main thrust of the New Covenant.

“‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,’ declares the Lord. ‘This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,’ declares the Lord. ‘I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

Jeremiah 31:31-33

“In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

1 Corinthians 11:25

He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

“Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?”

2 Corinthians 3:6-8

The Final Dispensation

The Bible reveals seven major dispensations in which God establishes responsibilities and a test for mankind. The first was in the Garden of Eden when Adam was innocent (untested) and Adam ultimately sinned by eating the forbidden fruit. The divine punishment was eviction from the Garden and the fall from grace experienced by Adam and all his posterity. The Second Dispensation followed in which mankind was to live by their conscience, the knowledge of good and evil. This dispensation led to the days of Noah when the inhabitants of the world failed so badly that God decided to wipe them out except for Noah and his family. The Third Dispensation allowed for mankind to govern one another with the idea that community discipline would lead to righteous behavior. The permission for capital punishment was divinely instituted for murderers. The people were instructed to spread out over the entire earth but instead they disobeyed and ultimately erected the Tower of Babel as a monument for idolatry. God ended up confusing their languages thus forcing them to spread out over the earth as previously instructed. The Fourth dispensation was unique in the fact that it only related to a select group of mankind, the Patriarchs of Israel. They failed to believe the Promises of God and ended up resettling in Egypt. God allowed them to become slaves there for hundreds of years. The Fifth Dispensation followed their redemption from Egypt and God established the Law of Moses to explicitly direct the behavior and distinctiveness of this elect nation. They experienced periods of blessing and cursing as warranted by their obedience and disobedience. Ultimately they called for the crucifixion of their Messiah. The Sixth Dispensation followed the resurrection and ascension of Christ. The believers who comprise the Church live by faith through the power of the Holy Spirit. This dispensation is ongoing but will fail miserably and end with the Rapture followed by God’s wrath in the Tribulation Period (Revelation 6-19). The Final Dispensation will be the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom and will last for 1000 years. During this period, mankind will honor and worship Christ as King who will be reigning from Jerusalem. Satan will be bound. Only true believers will be admitted to the kingdom as charter members, but as they bear children, these children will be taught to believe. Some will and some won’t, however outwardly they will have to comply with the King’s edicts or face death as a disciplinary measure. Therefore, many will outwardly comply but inwardly hold contempt for God and Christ secretly in their heart. Satan will be released from the abyss at the end of this period and will rally a rebellion of these secret objectors. That is the final test of mankind. It will prove that even in near perfect earthly conditions with Christ reigning as King, with peace and righteousness clearly established, with Satan bound and no evil influence except the sinful nature of man, people will still choose sin over obedience. The seven dispensations prove beyond any doubt that mankind needed a Savior; we needed Jesus Christ to be our perfect sacrifice because we would never have accomplished salvation on our own.

What Will Life be Like in the Millennial Kingdom?

The Bible doesn’t disclose many details about day to day life. We know there will be a temple built and sacrifices made (Ezekiel 40-48). These will be different than the sacrifices made under the Levitical Priesthood. They will serve as memorial reminders of the death and ultimate sacrifice made by Christ. Nations will travel to Jerusalem to worship. Nations will be at peace with other nations. The earth’s harvest will be more abundant than at any time in history. The animals won’t attack each other or humans. People will live very long lives. Though not stated, it is possible that sickness, disease and old age won’t result in death as it does in our age. In reviewing the many descriptions of the Millennial Kingdom, it appears the only thing that will result in death is rebellious unrepentant sin. This is not a point to be dogmatic about one way or the other since it has not been explicitly revealed.

In the days before the flood, people lived hundreds of years. Methuselah is the oldest recorded and died at the very old age of 969 years (Genesis 5:27). We are not exactly sure why men lived so long in those days but speculation is that the earth’s atmosphere provided a better barrier from the sun and somehow created more ideal conditions for long life. The disruptions in nature related to the flood must have changed those conditions. The same type of thing may reoccur during the Millennial Kingdom. The tribulation period covered in Revelation 6-19 records many cosmic events such as stars falling, the sky rolling up like a scroll, the sun, moon and stars darkened, great earthquakes and various topographical changes. The result of all this may provide a natural environment which leads to long life. The curse on mankind which started with Adam’s sin will be partially lifted. All this may make it possible for righteous humans beings to live the full 1000 years. One thing we know for sure is that the Bible prophecies describe a world very different than we now have. That’s the main point of all the descriptions; it will not be the way the world is now. There is a hint recorded in Isaiah which says a man who doesn’t live to a hundred will be considered cursed.

“Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; the one who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere child; the one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.”

Isaiah 65:20

“A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

“He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

“In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.

“He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth. Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim. They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west; together they will plunder the people to the east. They will subdue Edom and Moab,
and the Ammonites will be subject to them. The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals. There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from Egypt.

Isaiah 11:1-16

“In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.’ The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”

Micah 4:1-2

“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.”

Luke 1:32-33

“The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“’The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.’”

Revelation 11:15

“In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.

“Many peoples will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.’ The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.  He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples.

They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
